Quilting is an art. All of my quilts are pieced and sewn on a machine to ensure solid seams; however, all the surface sewing is done in hand quilting. Even the binding is made from scratch in order to secure color coordinated matches and then closed off by hand with a blind stitch.
Hand quilting allows one to use a quilt pattern that changes from block to block, or from lattice to lattice. Commercial quilting usually picks one overall quilt pattern and then covers the entire quilt with this stitch. Much of the artistic impact is lost in this manner. Hand quilting makes it a unique keepsake.
My handmade quilt creations at the Quilt Shop offer a variety of styles, colors, and sizes, using a traditional or original quilting pattern, or hand applique.
